Looks like a pretty cool little church. My mom is actually coming driving up from Paducah for Easter Vigil and my dad might come too. I'm a little surprised they're coming since they're Lutheran and this Catholic stuff doesn't really mean anything to them, but I guess since so many other relatives will be in town they don't want to miss out on the party :)

Im glad to hear you are becoming catholic.

I just got this book and I thought you might be interested in it.

Being an ex Lutheran and all.

It's really good.

Sean,

Congratulations on entering the catholic faith this saturday. I'm planning on making a post for this Saturday listing some of those Catholic bloggers that will be making the journey to the Catholic Church.

I'd love to include your blog. Plus, if everything works out in time, I will have a Catholic logo on my blog for all new Catholics to place on their websites. It will be blue, with an image (not sure of what), with the words along the lines of "Proudly entered the Catholic Church - 2006"

I wish you best as you complete this journey. My prayers are with you.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God,
by the will of the Father and the work of the Holy Spirit
your death brought life to the world.
By your holy Body and Blood
free me from all my sins and from every evil.
Keep me faithful to your teaching,
and never let me be parted from you.

Welcome, brother!

Praying for you!

Welcome! I am tearing up contemplating the peace that my own conversion (eleven years now) has brought to my life.

And what a lovely church!

Secundus D'Asti is an absolute rare and beautiful gem of a parish and community. You are truly blessed!

I discovered SSD'A while at a trade conference staying at the Hilton nearby and was blown away by the *gasp* communion rails and the shocking practice of hearing confessions before Mass. I remember being completely taken aback as I walked out of 8:30am Mass at the crowd of people standing in line, waiting to come in for the next Mass!

I know. it is amazing.

Fr. Marx is actually trying to get the latin mass there.

He does the latin mass at another church for the san bernardino diocese.

I'll add that Neuhaus' book to my list... it's going to take a while to get through my Amazon reading list :) I also want to read There We Stood, Here We Stand about 11 Lutherans who converted to Catholicism. While I don't know a whole lot about Luther, I have no doubt that he would have nothing to do with the modern Lutheran church. Reading the 95 Theses and finding that Luther's issues with the Catholic Church were resolved pretty much cleared the way for me.
