Strangely, I think the prayer Father posted is really VERY fitting as a prayer to be protected from "monsters"... never let me be parted from You...
My favourite prayer by Chesterton is spoken by Father Brown: "The cross of Christ be between me and harm."
And then there is that amazing invocation in the litany of St. Joseph: "Terror of demons, pray for us."
St. Michael's prayer works for my kids.
Wow. That is really powerful. We need to be more child-like, eh?
